Perciber, Award for Technological Innovation at Fecons
At Puertas Perciber we have been awarded the First Prize for Technological Innovation in the Contest of the Construction, Sustainability and Rehabilitation Exhibition Fecons 20.30 for our lightened solid door.
On October 22, we presented our lightweight solid-core door to a jury made up of the main organizations in the construction sector in the Region of Murcia. Our Commercial Director, Juan José Pérez, made this presentation before the members of the jury, accentuating the main virtues of the lightweight solid-core door, highlighting the advantages that our product provides with respect to the “classic” solid door.
The fact that such an apparently simple innovation is capable of bringing true technical and functional improvements in a product as common as a door is one of the reasons on which the jury relied to award us the most important award in the contest, proving that sometimes small changes can lead to big improvements.
Our lightweight solid-core door is an interior door for housing whose special manufacture gives it additional properties of lightness and acoustic insulation compared to the prevailing current doors on the market, for these and other reasons it was awarded the Fecons Innovation Award.
One of the main virtues of this door is its lightness, which greatly facilitates its installation and adjustment. In addition, its light weight makes the door more stable in the long term, minimizing misalignments in the fittings due to a reduction in the stresses derived from the leaf’s own weight.
The lightening of the sheet is achieved by replacing the usual chipboard core with specific density expanded polystyrene panels. The core material has reported improvements in the acoustic behavior of the door in certified tests, achieving a reduction of 23 decibels.
